[Podcasts] New Episodes feed is broken

[Podcasts] New Episodes feed is broken

When I scroll down my New Episodes feed to check what I've missed, at a certain point the entire feed disappears (it looks like everything gets pulled up to the top) and I'm left with a black screen. It will reset after several minutes, but every time I try to scroll down at a certain point the same issue will recur. Sometimes also happens when I press the download option or add it to My Episodes.

 

This has been a recurring issue for more than a month now, I keep hoping Spotify will fix it but it still hasn't happened. Photos posted below are from June 19 and July 14.

Hey,

Now my iPhone doesn't Show the New episodes either. I asked my wife to use my spotify Account on her mobile and she has the same Problem.

I'm having exactly the same issues: 

  • iPhone 13 Pro
  • iOS 17.5.1
  • Spotify 8.9.58

The app has been sluggish for more than two weeks or so, with "New Episodes" (podcasts) basically not loading at all. I have to manually shut down and open the app several times, then wait for up to one minute for the refresh.

 

I did a clean reinstall of the app two times, following the official guidelines (https://community.spotify.com/t5/FAQs/Perform-a-clean-reinstall-of-the-app/ta-p/4746485). I also double-logged out and into the account several times. Nothing helped.

 

Wifi or 5G does not make a difference either.

I have the same problem on Android and Samsung M31s. Solutions mentioned in earlier posts about it don't work.

The same like you I have that problem around 2 weeks or maybe even longer.

I have the exact same issue.

Samsung galaxy a34

Identical for me , Australia,  Samsung galaxy a52 , fully updated,  factory reset,  WiFi or 5g , multiple WiFi,  logged out in x 2 , etc 

Ps , I just halved my following podcasts from  60 to 30 and it seems a bit quicker 

Same issue with Samsung note 20. Everything is up to date. Its becoming hit and miss, sometimes new episodes load, sometimes it skips to a list of recent downloads and does not display new podcast episodes. Even when new episodes do load, it's taking 3-4 times longer to load than usual. 

Seems to be more and more people with this problem. I would really appreciate constructive help as I have tried everything in regards to reinstalling... it is now a week and I miss my podcasts

To continue investigating this behavior, @Mediahunter would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out. 

 

It would also be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device, it could be the same friend or family member, to see if the issue persists. This will help us understand if it could be account or device-related.


Lastly, just to be on the same page, @Marcin92pl have you tried the troubleshooting mentioned in the original post already? If not, give it a try as it covers some basic processes that may help you. If the issue persists, include in your next response the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running.

 

We'll be on the lookout.

everything works fine on my iPad Pro. The iPhone app is still unusable, I'm restarting the app dozens of times per day. Hi , the problem has stopped occurring for me in the last 24hrs 

Hey Yordan, I finally managed to attach a recording of the issue happening. Spotify app version 8.9.60.560, Android on Google Pixel 6a.

I am sorry, don't want to come over as rude but "possible a device issue"? Had to lol because I see thousands of these issues from all kinds of places around the world on reddit, other consumerforums and social media, by android users and apple users (heck, my wife uses an iphone and I am on a samsung, facing the same problems with spotify since weeks if not months) This is not a device problem, this is a problem with the spotify application itself and the response on this by spotify is the response you always get from big corporations - the problem most probably lies beyond their own doings, until they finally fixes it.

Please fix this!  I am on Iphone 12 with latest spotify.  Premium membership.  New Episodes has gone from loading sluggishly a month ago...  to not loading at all now.  

For over a month now, Spotify has not been able to come up with a fix for the issue: Podcasts are basically unusuable, the page takes hours to load, refreshs don’t work until you’ve completely shut down and reopened the app several times.

 

I started using the Apple Podcast app, might switch over to Apple Music completely.

Wow. It’s been almost a month and no solution. It happens on both of my iphones so I know it’s not an isolated issue. I mainly use Spotify for podcasts so I will be switching to Apple next billing cycle.
