Problem connecting as a remote

Problem connecting as a remote

Im trying to connect my phone as a romeote for spotify but spotify wont find my phone as a device.
I saw somewhere that my PC needs to be connected wirelessly for it to work.

So my question is:
How do i connect my phone to a wired PC?

As long as you're onl the same network it shouldn't matter... i.e. you're connecting through your home router.

Make sure Windows firewall is configured to allow Spotify.. This tends to be the main culpret for these types of issues.

When you say remote what are you trying to do exactly? Spotify Connect isn't yet part of the desktop client, so you won't be able to use the connect functionality on or to control the desktop app just yet.

Ohhh....

That explains that. When i was looking at the desktop client it look liked i could connect my device to that and controle it.

So im forced to use third party application to do it?

Controle my desktop client from my phone.

Currently, yes. Hopefully Spotify Connect will be added in the future. Interestingly, if you have Premium Spotify Connect works for me using Spotiamp on my PC.
