My Question or Issue
Android Auto works flawlessly through USB cable. The sound of Spotify is transmited normaly through the Bluetooth connection when I disconnect the cable but album cover, artist name, album name and track name are not displayed on my car screen anymore. I think that the problem started after updating Oxygen OS from 10.3.7 to 10.3.8 OR after a Spotify app update (don’t know what came first). I have already uninstall & reinstall the app and unpair & repair the phone and the problem persist. Any ideas?

Hey @shela,
Thanks for searching for the answer you need here.
We appreciate the troubleshooting you've done so far, can you confirm that you tried these steps for a clean reinstall? We recommend the steps in that guide, as they’re very thorough and make sure no damaged leftover files remain.
If that didn't fix thing, it's a good idea to do a clean reinstall of the Android Auto and check for updates to your car's infotainment system.
Hope this helps. Keep us posted.
Hey @shela,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Could you borrow a friend or family members phone and let us know if the Spotify app displays correctly with Android auto then? Thant would help us narrow the possible root cause of the issue.
Keep us posted.
Thanks for your answer that's exactly the problem. Last week a found out that Spotify stoped working on cable connected Android Auto...
Hey folks,
could you let us know the following info:
We'll be looking forward to your replies.
Spotify 8.6.24.918
Android 10 oxygen 10.3.10
OnePlus A6003
Avrcp 1.4 I've tested other once aswell 1.3 1.5 & 1.6 doesnt help.
The problem: The music player in the car doesnt refresh when a new song comes on.
There is also another problem on the phone. It doesnt display the right time for the song currently playing. It can display 2:15 constantly. Bugged
In my case everything is the same except from the model which is Oneplus A6013.
Hey @Brianooi,
We've passed your info on to the right team at Spotify. There are few users who've reported similar issues recently and the right folks are looking into this. We don't have any official info on an exact date for a fix, as this involves connection settings between different devices.
@shela, Can you let us know if everything works fine on Bluetooth or do you get the same mismatch in metadata?
Cheers.
The problem is the same via bluetooth an cable connection
Hi @shela,
Thanks for the response. Can you run us through the troubleshooting you've already done so we know what to suggest?
Cheers.
Uninstall / reinstall Spotify
Unpair / pair Oneplus 6T
Clear Spotify cache
Tested OnePlus Nord & iPad 3 works flawlessly
Hey @shela,
Thanks for the quick reply.
If other devices work fine with the car, the issue might be with the 6T.
Can you go into the phone's app settings and make sure that Spotify is granted all Permissions. Also, check that Battery Optimization is turned OFF.
Let us know if that helps.
Cheers.
Granted all permissions, turned battery optimization off and the problem persists as Brianooi described it
Hi @shela,
Thanks for getting back to us and trying what we've suggested.
Would you mind sending over a picture where we can take a better look at what you're seeing from your end? It will be helpful to continue investigating.
You can attach it using the Insert Photos option in the post editor.
We'll be on the lookout.
I am sending you some photos of the problem
Hey @shela,
Thanks for your reply and the photos.
Can you try the following:
Launch the Android Auto app.
Tap the top left menu and select About.
Tap About Android Auto 10 times to unlock Developer Mode. Select top right menu and check if there's Developer settings.
Select Developer settings and scroll down to Unknown sources and activate it.
Close all app and reopen them
If this setting is disabled it can cause sync issues with some cars.
Keep us posted.
Unfortunately activating "Unknown sources" didn't solve the problem. I would like to remind you the track information from YouTube, VLC and Viber (voice messages) are displayed normally.
