Progress bar for podcasts not working

The green track progress bar is no longer seen at all when playing podcasts. A few versions ago (of Spotify) I had to pause and play the episode for the progress bar to catch up but now the progress bar is completely gone. I think it happened with the second latest version which also caused Spotify to loose track of where I stopped playing causing the episode to have the text played even though stopping after a few minutes. The issue with Spotify not being able to remember where I was in an episode was however solved with latest update but the progress bar is still missing. The progress bar still works in Spotify for Windows but I would like to have it working again in my android. Phone restarted and it have the latest patch, Spotify cache cleared. Sony XZ Premium, Android 9 with latest update (April), Spotify 8.5.7.999
