Retrieving podcast episode's is slow

My Question or Issue

The query to retrieve podcast episodes is really slow (takes 30+ seconds for me).

Steps to reproduce:

Click "Your Library" on bottom right. 

Click "Podcasts" tab at top

Wait for Episodes tab to load. This is ordered by latest episode by default. This is what takes time. It's a common function as I want to listen to the latest episodes but it's frustratingly slow.

Note it may be as I am following a decent amount of podcasts (Maybe 15 to 20)

I've had this problem too on my Samsung phone. It helped to change my storage option (in settings) from the SD card to the device.

Me too!  I officially gave up on Spotify today (for podcasts).  It would have been convenient to not need a separate app for podcasts but Spotify is doing something seriously wrong that we're here posting about this.

I just switched to Google's podcast player which looks simple, clean, and fast.  There's a million other options for podcasts so there's no sense hanging around for Spotify when this has apparently been a problem for months.
