Saving a song or album to My Library takes me offline

It started about a month ago, anytime I save or remove a song from My Library the app goes offline, awywhere from 10 seconds to two or three minutes making the app unusable. Even trying to open the drop down menu on a song or album won't work (aka add to playlist, go to artist, go to album).
I do have a lot of songs saved into My Library. But adding more songs or albums has become virtually impossible because then I can't really use the app until it reconnects to the internet. Everything else in the app and my phone keeps working fine.

Could you try reinstalling spotify. If that doesn't help, please post details of your device, android version and spotify version. Thanks.

I have tried that twice. And restarted my phone multiple times.
Phone is a Galaxy S8. 4 months old.
Android version 7.0
Spotify version 8.4.9.271

If I save a song and then push the drop down menu again on that song or any other song, if either shows black or the green loading ring, then a pop up that says cannot load offline.

This shouldn't be happening on the S8. Did you follow all the steps in the link I posted?

You mentioned having a lot of saved music in your library but do you also have a lot of downloaded music? Is the spotify cache in internal storage or on an SD card?

I did each step. I usually have about 200 songs offline. But I took all of those off, so now I have no offline songs and I just did the delete cache, uninstall and reinstall from Google play again. Same problem.
