Search on playlist after fast scrolling down won't show any results

My Question or Issue

Trying to search after fast scrolling down the Liked Songs playlist won't show any results. Searching without fast scrolling works as intended. This doesn't happen in other, shorter playlists (they seem to have a different UI).

I posted this before, but someone merged it with another post (Can't Search liked Songs [Android]. Please DON'T merge it this time because IT IS NOT the same issue.

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

This is indeed odd behavior. In this case, we recommend you to start off with a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your device. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Would you mind sending us the exact Spotify version you're running on your mobile device?

On another note, it'd be really helpful if you double-checked if this behavior persists on a different mobile device. You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your account there and check if you notice any changes.

Lastly, it'd be awesome if you could check if you can replicate this behavior by opening a different account on the affected device. Once more, if possible, you can ask for the account of a relative or a friend to open it on your device and check.

Thank you for your response.

I was running Spotify v8.8.96.364 in my mobile device. After a clean reinstall it updated to 8.9.4.304, but the problem persists.

Tested on a different device and the problem is also present:

Device name: Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ FE

OS: Android 14 - OneUI 6

Spotify version: 8.9.4.304

Please note that it only happens after fast scrolling (song names and album arts become greyed while scrolling), and that there are 500 songs in my Liked Songs playlist. Having downloaded the songs made no difference. Video attached.

We could replicate this behavior from our side, so we've gone ahead and passed this info onto the relevant team. We can't say exactly when this will be fixed, but we suggest subscribing to this thread, so you can get notified of any new info posted here.

On another note, we've noticed that the search option works as intended if you go back to the top of the playlist. We'd suggest you give it a try and make sure your app is up-to-date, so you won't miss any developments in this matter.
