Hey @Bjöste,

Thanks for reaching out! Hope you don't mind us replying in English.

Automix enables smooth transitions between songs in a playlist.
I believe the setting you're looking for is Autoplay 🙂

In case this is also toggled off, we'd like to ask you to let us know what your exact issue is in a little more detail.
We'll gladly take a further look into things and do our best to help out!

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Hi.
The issue is the following.
Even if I switch off the Autoplay function, at the end of an Audiobook the player don't stop. Maybe 3 weeks ago it was like this but now it doesn't switch off.
This is annoying if you use an audiobook when you go to bed and 4 hours later Spotify is still playing something.
I hope you understood, if not let's talk on phone.

Hey @Bjöste,

Thanks for your reply.

If you'd like the playback to stop after the current episode you're playing, just open the sleep timer from the 3-dot menu in the Now Playing view and select End of episode.

Hope this helps.

This don't work too because an audiobok have many episodes/tracks. If I select in the sleep timer "end of track" it stops already after first track.

Why nobody understand the problem? It was working before and now since view weeks not. Can the developers not look for this problem or is this "radiofunktion" or queue play so important after an audiobook? Is there no programmer from the first time around Daniel Ek who understand the bug?

Hi @Bjöste,

Thanks for your reply.

We understand the situation. Have you noticed if it only happens when listening to audiobooks? Or does it also happen while listening to music and podcasts? On another note, if this only happens on your mobile device, we'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the Spotify app by following these steps. No worries, you won't lose any content, but you might need to download your offline music again.

Lastly, if you have the chance, could you check if it happens when using another account? We understand if you don't have one, so you could ask a friend or relative to give it a try.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

I experience the same bug/issue.

Actually you might also see it as a wider scope of the automix feature.

Before an update, audio books weren't included in that automix-feature but it worked well for music playlists.

The problem with audio books is that there are random tracks from random audio books played afterwards. That doesn't make sense since audio books need to be played in order. Also it would be very nice if Spotify would just stop after the audio book for the use case which was described above (just listening and sleeping in).

Hey @abcdefgh0000,

Could you make sure the Autoplay feature is toggled off? It generates a new queue with similar content when the current one ends. In any case, a short screen recording which captures the described behavior in action, along with the exact version of Spotify would be greatly appreciated - that way we can get a clear idea of what's happening on your end.

Cheers!

Hey,

The autoplay is turned on. I understand that it is a feature and I really appreciate it for MUSIC playlists. But in the case of audio books (so playlists/ albums officially marked as audio books) it doesn't make sense because the tracks need to be played in order.

One solution would be switching it on and off again depending on what I am listening to but seriously that's not very user-friendly and there has been an automated detection before so it got worse in that case.

I use version 8.9.14.543 on android.

I also attached a screen recording and a screen shot to show what I mean.

The audio book I am listening is marked as audio book and this autoplay feature creates a new queue with similar content. In case of music it's totally fine for me, in case of audio books it's like a getting a bit of chat without any context. You don't understand what is happening, who is talking, who is who. So actually that quiet annoying. Please remove this feature from audio books again as it was before december/november.

Hey @abcdefgh0000,

Thanks for the additional info!

It looks to me like what you're referring to is this issue we have under investigation here.
It's currently being looked into and should be resolved with one of the upcoming app updates.

Tip: You can also subscribe to the abovementioned thread to stay on top of any new updates 🙂

Thanks for linking the other issue to that thread, but I don't think, it is a duplicate.

In my case the audio book is playing in order but after it finished, there are random tracks played from random audio books, since I didn't turn off the autoplay feature.

Before November, Spotify just stopped playing after the audio book was finished. That made a lot more sense since audio books should be played in order instead of randomly picked tracks from random audio books in a random order.

Playing another audio book in the correct order would also make some sense, but it would be nicer if Spotify would just stop playing as it has been before November.

Hi abcdefgh0000,

I tried to explain the same issue but spotify play like "oh we don't know".

Probably there are no programmers answering, only people from customer service who don't have knowledge about the features of spotify.

I agree with you, after a audiobook is finish, spotify should stop and not play random tracks. Yes it was like this before November but now it is playing random tracks from other audiobooks. Totally senseless and annoying.

Hey @Vasil,

The problem still appears and is quite annoying but I don't think, it is the same as you linked. It has nothing to do with listrning in the car or something. And the shuffled tracks come from different audiobooks.

So if I should provide any other information or try to explain it in a different way, please let me know.

Otherwise it would be really nice to get some information about how you will treat the issue.

Kind regards
