Spotfiy plays on desktop when I want it to play in the car

My Question or Issue

I use Spotify on Windows at work, all day.  When I go home, I use Android Auto in the car to play Spotify.  Quite often, I will have left the Spotify app running on my computer when I leave work - not playing, just open. 

When I get in the car and start Android auto, and try to play music, everything looks like it's playing but there is no sound.  What's happening is that my work computer is taking over playback - if I open the Spotify app on my phone I can see that it's playing on my computer. 

I think if I am using Spotify on Android Auto, it should force playback to the car, no matter where else I might have Spotify open.   I can't think of any situation where I would want to have my car start playback somewhere else.  And I don't want to open my phone to change the playback device while driving. 

Is this possible to do?
