Now that Spotify has been released for the Gear S3, has anyone had any issues connecting to LTE and streaming from LTE? I have no issues listening to spotify while my phone is connected to the S3, but I just tried taking it on a walk without my phone and I could not connect to the TMO mobile network. Is this an app problem or a TMO issue?
Solved! Go to Solution.
not neccessarily.
You have to go into the S3 settings and change your mobile connection from Auto, to always on. If you don't do that, then you will not be able to stream. And, then when you are done, you need to undo all these steps so your battery will not die quickly.
According to this article, it only acts as a control for the phone at the moment (which makes it pretty pointless really).
Aha - of course spotify is also available for my Gear S2 so I gave it a quick whirl. I don't have cellular on my watch but it streamed perfectly over wifi for me. Volume on my BT phones was on the low side though - not sure if there's anything I can do about that.
EDIT: Found spotify's cunningly concealed volume controls 🙂
Install app on Gear S3
Launch app
Goto settings
Goto Modes
Select Stream over LTE/3G
Done.
