Spotify Connect plays old version of Daily Mix playlist

Playing from Pixel 3a (Android 12), controlled over Spotify Connect from Macbook Pro  2017 (macOS 13.4)

My Question or Issue

I hit the big "Play" button under "Daily Mix 5" from my Mac, with Spotify Connect controlling my Android phone. Music started playing on phone, but the track played was not on this playlist, as shown on the Mac. I went to the phone; the home screen had the little green "playing" indicator against "Daily Mix 5", but on going to the playlist on the phone, the playlist contents matched what was shown on the Mac (as expected), but it was still playing this phantom track. I checked shuffle was switched off, and I scrolled through the whole playlist and no tracks were highlighted in green to show that they were playing, and the track playing was not on the list. After about 2-3 tracks, it started playing the first track on the playlist, as I would have expected from the beginning.
Could it be that the Mac commanded the phone to start playing "Daily Mix 5", but an old version of that playlist was still cached on the phone, so it started playing that instead? And then by opening the playlist on the phone, it forced it to update to today's version of the playlist, which it then eventually started playing it.
