Spotify Crash Cyanogen OS 13.1.5 (Android 6.0.1)

Solved!

Spotify Crash Cyanogen OS 13.1.5 (Android 6.0.1)

Everytime I am using the Spotify App, I don´t know why it crashs and stop to play music. But this isn´t the worst. I have to remove the battery because I cant restart or turn off the phone normally. Even Google Play Music get frozen when it happens.

I think it doesn´t happen when the phone isn´t blocked but I'm not sure.

Hi! Just to clarify, I didn't say it's a mod. I said it is a Custom ROM. Why Custom ROM? Well, Cyanogenmod is not part of Google nor original Android development team. I just checked in Cyanogenmod official site and the Wileyfox Swift's cyanogenmod download page and there are no stable releases. There are snapshot versions that are somewhat close to stable but they always have at least a few issues 😞

I've also talked to my friends at XDA and told me that even thought it is a great cellphone, the OS implemented is not the correct and it causes a lot of destabilization on certain apps. It seems that in your case you can't keep Spotify running when your phone is locked 😞

If you say that Spotify started working weird when you force closed the service, best bet would be reinstalling.

In this case, we can't really give you a hand on this one... Your phone has an OS not distributed by Google or the Carrier Service Providers, so we don't really know what could be affecting your situation or provide a solid solution 😞

In any case, my suggestion would be to check out for websites with the best stable OS for your phone and see if it works well with Spotify.

Hello and welcome to the Spotify Community! Let's see how I may help you 😉

OK, so you have a Custom ROM? Allow me to ask a few questions:

  1. What device you posses?
  2. Is the Cyanogen version Stable/Snapshot/RC/Beta/Experimental/Nightly?
  3. Besides Google Music, does it happen on other apps?

If what you are saying is true about the fact that you can't restart or turn off your phone normally, then it is a CyanogenMod ROM issue and not the apps 😞

My suggestion is to go back to the original Operative System since all the apps will definetly work!

Have a nice day!

1.My device: Wileyfox Swift
2.Cyanogen OS 13.1.5..."crackling", not MOD (It comes with the phone)

3. I dont know about other crashes of apps when Spotify goes blocked.

Other data:
- It runs well when I dont block the phone (dark screen) - I dont know how to say in English.
- Normally, when I block the phone, the app crashes few minutes later.
- I try to check other "power mode" (Max. power, save power, etc) and still crashing.

- I dont know how, but one day I restored the Spotify app by closing his service before doing anything before (like restart the device, turn off, etc)

I dont know if this data could help...

If you need more info...

Ok, I understand.

I just reinstall Spotify but still crashing.

I think I have to live with that.

Thank you so much.

same issues here, use spotify version http://download.spotify.com/android/SpotifyAndroid.apk (8.4.0.539) - it will work and not crash your phone, independently if you use SD card or not....
