Spotify and voice instructions of GPS

Hi! I've got a problem that didn't use to happen in the past with my Spotify, I don't know why. In the past when I was playing music in my car with Spotify the program mute the music when my Google maps or sygic gives me a GPS voice instruction. Actually, maybe due to a software update, Spotify mutes but the instruction is not heard. I've been setting every single option and it's been useless. Does anybody have the same problem? It's important to me, because I'm always using Spotify and GPS in my car at the same time and I want to be focused on the road, not looking at the instructions on the display of the phone all the time. Welcome to the Spotify Community. Can you let us know what device, operating system, and version of Spotify you're using?

Also, are you using Bluetooth or a regular AUX cable to listen to Spotify on your car?

I also have this problem since one week, I use Yandex Navigator, and also tried removing both app and re-install both. When I use Google Play Music, Yandex plays music instructions. But it won't work with Spotify anymore (it used to work, I got this problem for the first time 30th of July while driving)

I am currently using Oneplus One with Marshmallow update, I am a premium Spotify user,  phone is connected through AUX in. I tried both with Aux, headphones and phone's internal speakers, but none of them work as it were working before. Again, Google Play Music with local musics works fine.  Hope this information is enough, though i didn't able to test it with bluetooth, yet it is obvious there is a internal problem, so there is a possiblity that bluetooth audio has the same problem.

I suspect that audio ducking has got screwed up again (this seems to happen from time to time).I have noticed that I no longer hear notifications when listening to spotify on my bluetooth earphones - not even incoming calls! The only clue now is that spotify's volume decreases for a second or two.

Ey guys, thanks for your help. Do you know what? as the notifications suddenly stopped working in the past yesterday started working again "magically". I didn´t do anything different to the phone, maybe it was an update of Spotify or Android. What about you? was the problem solved? Like McGayveR80 my phone is a One plus One with the last version available of Android and Spotify premium.

I have the same problem, since about 1 Month. Also One plus One with latest updates, connectet by AUX. I didnt try it for the last 5 Days but im going for a journey and was looking for a solution, when i found this thread. I will try if it works for me now, like it does for you.

Good luck then! It's strange, because when is connected in the Aux it works, but not when I hear with the speaker of the phone, when Spotify decrease the volume of the music but the audio notification is not heard. Now my Spotify has just been updated and I'm scared it won't work again. I'll check next time I drive my car.

Hi, I have the same problem with Oneplus One (latest CyanogenOS update) connected via AUX. AudioFX is off.

It must have started with some update of either Spotify or Android Auto as I haven't received an OTA OS update since autumn and it already worked for some time this year.

Is there any know fix?
