I'm having a similar issue on my 7th Gen Kindle fire. After the recent update Spotify no longer opens 😞

Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out.

Can you please share the exact app version this is happening with?

Also, does reinstalling the app/using a different account/internet connection make a difference?

Keep us posted.

The app version is 8.9.4.304. I've tried those and it still does it.

Same issue in my fire h d 7th gen

Hi there folks,

Thanks for the info.

First up, try turning the WiFi off and restarting the device. Then open the Spotify app with the WiFi off and once it's opened turn the WiFi on. Additionally, if you have an SD Card, take it out and try using Spotify again.

Lastly, @Katanajim and @Redrose199, could you confirm the Spotify version on your devices?

We'll be on the lookout.

Here is proof of the spotify version. I also tried that but it didn't work. The only thing I haven't tried is going to a previous version, which I cant

How did you execute the full fire reset?

Yeah it's been happening with me too, just recently updated it to the lastest version ( which is version 8.9.4.304 ) and cannot get it going after the usual solutions to do so. Sadly this isn't the first time this has happened, I guess only thing we can do is just wait and hope they'll fix it.

Hey @Luis_91_91

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, we`re happy to have you!

This is a peculiar situation indeed. We would suggest performing a clean reinstall of the Spotify app - that should clear up any cache-related issues. You can follow steps on how to do that here

Let us know how it goes!

Same, recent issue here. Have tried everything listed in this thread, but Spotify app still fails to launch - shows the logo on a black screen for a few seconds, then shuts down. Spotify version 8.9.6.458 Fire HD 10 (5th Generation).

I have now the same problem after the last Spotify update 20 Jan 2024. Doesn't start beyond a black screen. Premium account. Tried uninstall/ install and suggested work around with WiFi off. No luck. Help please!

Hey @BoxtyChamp

Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community!

Could you check if the OS of your device has any pending updates?

On another note, could you let us know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update?

Lastly, would you mind asking a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your device to check if thy can replicate this?

We'll be on the lookout.

Hello dear Yordan...

Thanks for your kind answer... But seems like a funny and cruel joke 😞 .

I'm afraid There's no point in having premium account because downloaded songs won't play until re-downloaded with active connection.

The 1st time I reported Spotify was redownloading everytime, I had 40 playlists.

After clean reinstall, it started working with a couple of playlists, but reaching 19 playlists it failed again to show downloaded songs offline.

Any idea, please? Because downloaded songs won't play offline as promised

Same. After I updated spotify, it'll just show me the spotify symbol then kick me out of the app. I need help

I completely uninstalled the Spotify app, then downloaded and reinstalled
it, which seemed to fix it.

Hey dear Yordan, I've tried the solution once again and I think it's working so far... But not sure yet 🙂

Hey @Luis_91_91,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

That's great news, happy to hear it's working for you 🙂

Should you encounter the same issue again, feel free to have a look at the steps mentioned earlier by @Eni.

We're just a post away if anything pops up. Cheers!

Running Android 13, the app will constantly crash (sometimes multiple times per song!) whenever using other apps or when the screen is off. Issue happens most when connected with Bluetooth but has also happened when just playing it from my phone. It's a Motorola G Stylus 2023 model, however, the issue persisted across phone upgrades. I have a premium account and the songs are downloaded, so it shouldn't be a data issue. App version is 8.9.22.539. This has been an issue for a very long time. It also has a habit of clearing my queued songs when these crashes happen.

Seems like you're having an issue worth investigating.

You should try deleting and reinstalling the app. Hopefully that'll fix the issue. 🙂
