Spotify connect not working on android or PC, works flawlessly on iphone

Title.

I have Denon AVR-X1000 amplifier for my home system. Wanted to stream music into it as I have done with other services before spotify.  Spotify Connect is not working with my PC or Samsung Note4 towards the amplifier.

-Between phone and pc it works. I just cant find the receiver from devices.

-All devices are connected to my home network. Amplifier with lan, others wifi

-With girlfriends iphone its visible and works as it should!

-Used my account on all three devices. Does not work.

-Neither does her account. Only thing that works is the iphone.

-I can log into spotify from the receiver menu, and play my lists etc but the interface is terrible and I'm fairly sure its a different service/signal source and not related to this problem

Any idea what is the problem? Help appreciated.

I may be wrong but I don't think the X1000 works with connect. I suspect the iphone was actually streaming via airplay which is not the same thing. Time to upgrade to the AVR-X3100W.

How can I test/diagnose airplay vs connect? I have zero experience on apples.
