Spotify connect still streams though my phone, not directly to the receiver

My Question or Issue

Hi, when using Spotify connect with Spotify connect with a compatible receiver - blusound node - the music cuts every few seconds (but with an Alexa device it works fine).

From what I understand I have that issue because the music is not streaming directly from the internet to the receiver but is instead passing through my phone and then to the receiver, defeating the purpose (if I turn off wifi on the phone then the music stops completely).

How can I get Spotify connect compatible receivers to stream directly from the internet?

Thanks for the post.

Not all receivers and speakers can run Spotify directly, as the Spotify app on those devices is developed by the manufacturer using the Spotify API, rather than Spotify directly. 

You have to check the manufacturer's website if it's possible to run Spotify directly on the receiver using voice commands or a remote control.

Otherwise, what you can try is to factory reset the receiver and check on the website of the manufacturer for any firmware updates. Such updates often fix such issues.
