My Question or Issue

The app is closing itself automatically when trying to enter the Liked Songs screen, as well as not seeing it in my playlists. I'm using the Alpha version of the app.

Same issue. Samsung Galaxy s8, Android 9. At least artists profiles no longer crash the app 😂

Also when I try to save a song to 'liked' the app shows a notification that I don't have any space left in 'liked'. All songs that had the green heart sign no longer have it. That's a novelty!

happens to me on a macbook pro

I have this too - Android 7.0. Clicking Liked Songs on home page crashes app as does My Library if I try to move to Artists or Albums. OK on Win10 and Android 8.0

- I've already tried deleting cache (in app and Android settings) and reinstalling.
- Other playlists show without issues. No issues on PC.
- Issue started after I reinstalled trying to fix another issue with Liked Songs (several songs I liked on PC were not showing up on the mobile list, while others I liked after these did).

WORKAROUND:
- Changing storage from SD Card to Device makes Liked Songs work again.

But this is not a fix and I want to be able to download music to the SD Card like I used to, I can't stream songs in areas with no network.
This is the second issue I find with Liked Songs and SD Cards (previously, trying to download the songs would make the list disappear).
Clearly a Spotify issue, since my SD Card is working perfectly with other apps.

Spotify Lite has no issue reading the SD card.

Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out! We'll happily help you sort this one out.

If you're app is crashing when you try to open your liked songs, it's most likely caused by by corrupted installation files. In such cases, it's best to make a fresh start with a clean reinstall 🙂

@klarusia95, we've now removed the limit on saved items in Your Library, making it possible to save songs, and albums on Spotify to your heart's content. Could you share with us how many song are saved in the playlist Liked Songs? If none of your saved items appear, you it's possible you have another account. We recommend that you have a look here on how to check that up.

@Pochs the way you're describing the issue sounds like there might be something interfering with the cache of the app. Could you check that there are no cache clearing apps running for Spotify? Keep in mind that even if you didn't install such apps, some devices have them preinstalled. We also recommend that you check your SD card for errors.

Hope you find this useful. Keep us posted how you get on.

Hi. Ive checked all of the following. It seems like my issue might be related to my account, because when my boyfriend logged in everything worked. I can't figure out how to repair my account.

Hey klarusia95 ,

Thank you for getting back to us and confirming what steps you've taken.

Can you confirm if your boyfriend signed in on the same device as you're having issues with your account on?

Could you also let us know what version of Spotify you have. Head here to check which version you're on.

Keep in mind that there's currently an Ongoing Issue about not seeing your Liked Songs playlist in the mobile app that is being looked into here. If you're experiencing that, make sure to head to that Ongoing Issue for more info.

We're looking forward to your reply so that we can keep on assist you. We're always one reply away if you need us 🙂

Cheers!

Sorry for the late reply.

I have no cache clearing apps, as far as I know/can check. Never installed anything of the sort and never had any cache issue with any other apps, at least.
I've checked my SanDisk 4GB MicoSD Card and found no errors, and never had an issue with other apps.

But it seems like the issue was resolved, perhaps in some automatic app update? I just tried again, and I can open the Liked Songs playlist while having SD Card as preferred storage, as well as being able to download songs without issues.

Unfortunately, I am now facing other issues: I'm currently using the Lite app version, and a personal playlist is not working (songs always show as loading, I can't listen to it). I tried switching to the normal app, and although the personal playlist is now available, the Liked Songs playlist shows empty (with the message "Your liked songs will appear here").
Not sure if these are related, but I'll deal with them in other threads.
