Spotify doesn't work with headphones and earbuds

My Issue:

When using any headphones or earbuds, Spotify keeps pausing, playing, and skipping tracks on its own. This usually happens when I place my phone in my pocket or when the headphone/earbud jack moves or turns in the phone. Sometimes, Spotify even plays in the background when it's closed.

I am at a loss on what to do. I have searched everywhere and it seems that I have the current version of Spotify. I have also tried reinstalling and logging out and back in, twice.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
