Spotify draining my mobile data even when the cellular download is turned off

Solved!

Spotify draining my mobile data even when the cellular download is turned off

Hi,

I have and issue with Spotify in my phone for some months. The application stared to drain my mobile data in large quantities even when I'm listening only to downloaded albums and having cellular download option turned off.

I have Nokia 7 Plus running Android 10. Spotify version 8.6.10.581.

It is important to note, that nothing specific has changed in my phone setup when this started to happen. I have not upgraded to new Android version nor installed any significant upgrades.

Please advice.

Best Regards,

Pavol

Hey @pavol_droba,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

To avoid mobile data draining, switch on Offline mode from the app Settings.

If the app is connected to the internet it will automatically stream songs even if they're downloaded on your device. This is intended to bring you the latest and highest quality version of each track.

Hope this info helps. Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have questions.
