Spotify fails to launch over Bluetooth in the car with Android Auto

Operating System: Android ver 10

My Question or Issue

Spotify would fail to launch when connected to Bluetooth in my car with android auto.

I would get a quick message about “in the car?  Use the auto app”, then it would shut down.

I think the feature in Spotify called “Car View” was involved. This can be turned off in spotify settings

The SOLUTION was to turn off the Optimization of battery usage by Spotify on my android phone. Thankfully, this person had discovered this for me

For Android version 10 / this is under “Optimize Battery Usage” which I could only locate by doing a search in Settings

btw – Spotify support (which is just a chat … no real tech support) was of no help.
