Spotify linking to alarm apps when I don't want it to?

Spotify linking to alarm apps when I don't want it to?

My Question or Issue

Somehow Spotify is linking to my  Google Clock app even though I never linked them, and I can't find anything on my phone that suggests they are linked.  When I check on Spotify, it shows I haven't given any apps permission to access Spotify. I tried installing a different alarm clock app (Alarm Clock For Me) and Spotify once again overrode the settings.  I've uninstalled Spotify from my phone this morning but if that's the only solution, I suppose I'll have to cancel my Spotify premium as well.

Hey there @bycald,

Thanks for getting in touch with us and welcome to the Community 🙂

We'd suggest you give the steps below a go. Are there any changes?

  1. Go to your phone's settings.
  2. Search for "Bixby routines" and select "My routines" at the bottom of the page.

  3. This will take you to another page with a few routine options.

  4. Here you can check if Spotify is set in any of the routines you have.

  5. Toggle the slider to turn it off.

Keep us posted. If you have questions, you know where to find us.

This does not work if you aren't using bixby routines.

There is a place in the alarm settings where spotify is listed as and alarm sound and Samsung troubleshooting says to go into Spotify settings from there and disable it. However, when I do that I cannot locate ANYWHERE in spotify that allows me to disable that link between the app and my phone alarm.

I NEED this to STOP.

I couldnt figure it out so I uninstalled Spotify and now my alarm plays as normal.
