Spotify on FiiO music player X5 3rd gen

After downloading some songs through the Spotify app on the X5 3rd gen running Android 5.1, if I power off the X5 3rd gen and power it on again, the downloaded songs will disappear when opening the Spotify. But it it strange that, the songs have gone, but the storage was still occupied. 

Is there any limitation on Spotify app to forbid the Android device to access the data?

If you're using android 6 or 7, check that the app has permission to access storage as it doesn't request this on first running.

Hi, Joe. The FiiO X5 3rd gen is based on Android 5.1. I found that some other users also have the similar issue on their Android phones when using Spotify app. Here is the link: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Android/Offline-Songs-Disappearing/td-p/1350156. Sincerely hope Spotify technical team can pay attention to this issue and solve it soon.
