My Question or Issue
I should add this is a wireless connection.
Hey @hotroddy,
Thanks for reaching out.
Can you please explain in more detail how things look on your end and provide some screenshots or a short video so we can investigate further? The more info you provide, the easier it would be for us to help you with this issue.
In the meantime, try re-pairing your phone to your car and clean reinstalling the Spotify app and let us know if that changes anything.
Keep us posted
I have also done a clean install of Spotify and Waze, a couple of tomes actually.
Hey @hotroddy,
Thanks for the videos!
Just to confirm - is this happening only with Bluetooth or when using a wired connection as well (if you have one available)? Can you also check if you car's software is up-to-date and ensure that there aren't any pending updates?
Also, to check if this is device-related, it'd be great if you can ask someone to try to connect to your AA via Bluetooth on their device to see if they experience the same.
Keep us posted.
Thanks,
I have no wired connection, head unit is up to date, works fine with Apple CarPlay. I have tried 2 different Android phones with same result —> no Spotify unless bluetooth turned off.
Hey @hotroddy,
Thanks for the cooperation!
I'd suggest troubleshooting your bluetooth settings - first off, can you go to your phone's settings > System > Reset Options > click on Reset Bluetooth & WiFi? These options could be called slightly different on your device, but it should be something similar to what was mentioned. Can you also check if the media audio option for Android Auto is toggled on afterwards and try turning your Bluetooth again to see if that makes a difference?
Keep us posted.
Thanks Dessi,
I tried both of those options and no change. What’s strange is my navigation (AA Waze) and Spotify both continue work after turning off bluetooth (on my phone).
Appreciate the cooperation and provided info @hotroddy.
We've forwarded the info to the relevant team here at Spotify.
Since you mentioned that not only Spotify, but Waze also starts working after you turn off Bluetooth, then we think there's also a possibility that there may be an issue with Android Auto. Just to be on the safe side, you can also reach out to them to check and get back to us.
Thanks once again and in the meantime we're here if anything else comes up.
