My Question or Issue

In the past week or so, Spotify has started playing automatically when I connect to Bluetooth and open the app. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app, forgetting and reconnecting to the speaker, clearing the cache, and a bunch of other things. It's getting very frustrating and I'd like a solution.

This is a f***ing annoying feature, indeed. If you have already searched the forum for a solution, you might have bumped into threads discussing the same. Based on those, do not have high hopes that the devs are going to fix this anytime soon. Yet I do not understand why they did not implemented a switch at least if I want to disable it.

Hi folks!

If you haven't already, try disabling the Start music automatically feature in Android Auto's settings (usually found in your phone's Settings > Connected devices). Be sure to also check your Bluetooth settings for a similar feature and toggle it off.

In case the issue persists, a short screen recording which shows the app's behavior in action would be greatly appreciated. That way we can get a clear understanding of how things look on your end.

Keep us posted on this. Cheers!

Hi, I think this is a speaker issue as it doesn't happen on other devices. Thanks for the advice though!

Hi folks,

Thanks for your posts.

This is dependent on your Specific device and the signals it sends when connecting to another device. The settings responsible for this could have been altered with a recent OS update. The reason is that the autolaunch &autostart  functions are dependent on the way a device is configurated to interact with the app API. We recommend that you reach out to the manufacturer to report the issue with them as well.

Some users report that they managed to fix this by altering certain settings on their device. We've compiled a list of possible solutions for you to try bellow:

Hope this helps!
