I have a Pixel 7 and am having an issue whenever I try to play a playlist whilst in my Hyundai i30 using Android Auto.
I get into my car, select the playlist I want, and press play. The song will play for about 10 seconds then will randomly change to a Radio playlist based off of the playlist I initially chose. This happens every single time I do this. It's a bit annoying and can be distracting when driving.
Hey there, glad you asked in the community!
It seems like the player is triggering track radio instead. I would suggest you log out and log in once again. Then turn the repeat option on (not the repeat 1) and then try. What happens is if both the shuffle and repeat button is off, it starts the track radio once it finishes.
Let me know how it goes.
Happens to me too, for years and years. Spotify doesn't care.
Hi there @erbacaaa,
Thank you for taking the time to post here in the Community. Let's take a closer look together.
To start with, can you confirm if you followed the steps that was provided in the reply above by @Amayy?
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Have a great Friday and start of your weekend 🙂
Hey @aessof05,
Thanks for the reply.
We'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the app. Please follow the steps from this Spotify Guide exactly, as this will assure that all app data is cleared completely, before reinstalling. Corrupted app cache and data could be causing such issues.
Also, make sure that Battery optimization is not enabled for Spotify from the system app settings, as well as that the app is granted all permissions. These settings could be hindering the performance of the app.
If none of that helps could you ask a friend/ family member to log in with their account on your device to check if this issue is account related at all?
Keep us posted on how you get on with this.
Hi Alex
I tried this and it still did not fix the issue.
Hi @aessof05!
Could you confirm if this behavior occurs over Bluetooth? If yes, then it's most likely how Spotify interacts with Android Auto. You can try disabling the Start music automatically option in Android Auto's settings to see if it would do the trick. Something else you can try out is removing the connection to your car in Android Auto on your phone and then manually connecting your phone to the car over Bluetooth via the Bluetooth settings menu on your phone.
Let us know how it goes. Cheers!
I have this issue as well. I have an iPhone 14 and am connecting to a bluetooth device in the car, as well as Spotify Car Thing. It hasn't always happened, just within the past couple of weeks.
Hey @sadastronaut,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Could you try the steps proposed by @Yordan, but with their iOS counterparts?
Let us know how that went,
Cheers!
