Hey @GemMuzz!

Welcome to the Community.

Could you let us know what device/operating system and Spotify version you're currently using?

Also, can you head to the settings of your phone > Data usage > Spotify and check if there's any restriction?

Keep us posted.

Hi

I've no restrictions on Spotify.

Operating system is android 6.0.1 on the Samsung S7 on 3.

I've attached the version of spotify as well.

Many thanks
Gemma

I also have this problem.
I'm running the same software version of Spotify but Android 6.0 on my LG G4. I don't know if it has anything to do with with the original problem but when I flicked the "Download using cellular" switch and scrolled up I noticed the "Auto-play" function was on which it wasn't when I scrolled down. I've tried a few times after closing the app and opening it again but I still can't download songs although I have connection and are able to play other songs. The only thing that happens when I turn it on is that I also turn on Auto-play.
I don't know if this information is any good in terms of trying to solve the problem but I hope there will come a solution.

Best regards
Hannes
