Terrible sound quality on asus zenfone 4

I have a Asus Zenfone 4 running spotify premium and it has terrible sound quality. I can tell the difference because spotify on my laptop sounds great. I am wondering what is causing this. I am pretty sure it is only a spotify issue. Any advice?

Please make sure cache is cleared and sound quality is 320 kbps on Premium, default is 96 kbps. You can also put 160 kbps if slow Internet or you need to save data etc.

In Free default on mobile devises is 96 kbps, you can put it to 160 kbps for free.
