Hey there @NumbskulkVEVO,
Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.
In this case, we'd suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app on the affected device. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.
If the above doesn't do the trick, then we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

I'm having the same issue. Wiping data or reinstalling the app fixed it, but this is reproducible - using the AI playlist again repeats the issue and I can't search before wiping again. Happy to provide logs if needed.
Here is a recording of the issue

My Question or Issue
Ever since I've searched ai playlist since the new update the app crashes when i press the search bar with out fail but when I'm offline and ai playlist doesn't show up I can search 50 percent of the time
My experience with replicating this behavior:
Navigate to the search tab, search for "AI Playlist", and tap on the search result. After this point, any time you use the search bar and trigger the keyboard popup, it will crash the app.
Clearing storage or reinstalling the app fixes the search bar, until you repeat the above steps.
Going to the Library tab, tapping the plus sign in the top tight corner, and using the AI Playlist creator from there works fine and doesn't break anything.
App Version: 8.9.78.513
Device: Pixel 7
OS: Android 14
Hey there folks,
Thanks for posting here and welcome.
@T-dog22lr, would you mind sending us the exact steps you took to reproduce this behavior? If you haven't yet, we'd suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app on the affected device to see if you notice any difference. You can follow these steps to do it.
If this issue persists, then it'd be very useful if you could send us the info we asked for here.
@ryanrod, thanks for the video you kindly sent us. In this case, we'll need you to send us the info we asked for above, so we can continue investigating this behavior. Remember to send us:

I'm also experiencing this. Even uninstalling didn't work.

My Question or Issue
After searching or using the AI playlist option that just came out, my spotify won't let me use the search bar. I can click on it but then the app shuts down, consistently. Soft resetting doesn't help the issue. Have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app yet. I can still add new songs to existing playlists, but cannot use the search bar.
I'm on a Android Pixel 7a, Spotify version 8.9.78.513, having this same issue. It must have to do with the AI playlists, because I generated a playlist successfully and then listened to it for hours. Sometime after playlist creation, attempting to use the global search bar immediately kills the app. I re-installed the app using the "quick reinstall" and it didn't fix the issue.
Hey folks,
Thanks for all the info shared here.

If perhaps you're new here, make sure to send us the info we asked for in this reply.
We'll be on the lookout!
So it's not a true solution to the problem we are having. I've reinstalled once to only discover using the AI Playlist started the problem again I was thinking I might have just had a corrupt file. Logging out and back in will save you the trouble of the reinstall and it fixes the issue at least until you try to use the Ai Playlist again.
I'm having the same issue, and it also started once I tried to use the AI Playlist. Clearing my cache fixed the issue. Thank you to other users in this thread for the fix.
This worked, thank you so much!! I hopebthey figure out what's going on and send a patch out soon!
I am running android 12
Spotify version 8.9.78.513
After a clean install I can search once or twice until my searches sync and the AI playlist on the search bar crashes it again and it only happens on my phone because ai playlist is not available on desktop
I would like to add that I also have this issue. I have a new Pixel 9 Pro, I just tried the AI playlist feature this morning, and this issue has just started for me. Force stopping and clearing cache don't seem to be doing anything.
I have the same issue. Suspect it related to the new ai Playlist feature.
Reinstall fixes the issue but if you try and use the ai playlist again after reinstalling the same issues occur. Instead of reinstalling the app a simple log out and back in fixes whatever is going on in the background of the app. I tried simply clearing the app data as well and the only two things that seem to fix the issues are a reinstall or my prefered log out and back in.
