Unable to find SD Card to store songs error

Undownloaded 2 albums

Settings>Storage stil showed memory on use

cleaned cache

tried to start Spotify

got an error saying unable to find free space to store

Had to uninstall app and download again, seems to be working fine now

I get the same problem as well. Clearing the data also gets rid of the sd card error message too but considering that my phone doesn't have a port for external memory (I have an HTC One M7) clearing the cache is something I dread every time I need to do so.
