Unable to reinstall via Play store, getting error code 497

Unable to reinstall via Play store, getting error code 497

Long story short: Spotify on my NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1 was being sluggish, seemingly some kind of connection issue. Spotify was being fine on other devices (iPhone 6 and MBP). Other network connections were perfectly fine (i.e. the problem was most definitely not a general network issue).

So, I went here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Android/Android-Troubleshooting-Spotify/td-p/113082

Followed the instructions which led me to this page: https://support.spotify.com/se/article/reinstallation-of-spotify/

Now, uninstalling Spotify was not a problem. However, reinstalling isn't working.

I keep getting error code 497 in the play store, but only for the Spotify app, other apps install just fine. I've obviously tried restarting my tablet, checking for Play store updates, removing play store updates, clearing play store cache, rebooting a few more times.

So, now what do I do?

Edit: Also, I've obviously followed Google's instructions as per the link in the error message in the Play store. They didn't help.
