Why am I forced to try the premium service in order to listen free with shuffle play?

Updated to latest version on my Sony Xenia Z3 compact, but when I hit the shuffle play button, an message pops up, asking me to try the premium service. Even if I hit the "later" button, nothing happens and no music is played. I could only listen to music after hitting the "try" button for the 7 day trial. I don't mind the adverts, lower quality and forced shuffle play, I just want to listen to music, but it seems Spotify has forgotten what "free" means? What happens if my 7 day trial is over? Does that mean I cannot listen to music if I don't continue to subscribe?

I suggest just using up the free trial. After that you'll just get the standard free plan as existed
