I have a Yamaha RX-V675 with an internet connection and connected to my router and an iPhone and Galaxy s4 both with spotify premium connected to the same router in the same network, but the receiver didn't show up as a device when i touch the button for spotify connect.
Already installed the latest firmware 1.46
Did a factory default on my receiver
Checked the connection in my network, all devices are in the same network and IP range. Yamaha receiver app works on both devices and i can also stream music with dlna from the galaxy.
Did a reset of my router, checked if upnp was on and also tried a factory default.
Still the receiver didn't show up as a device in spotify connect.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Found the solution, but don't know how I did that......
installed an aditional wifi router and connected de amp hardwired to it and my phones wireless.
Made the connection and it worked.
THen I unplugged the aditional router and connected the amp to the ubee router and the phones also, it keeps on working.
to be sure, rebooted everything and still working.
There's only one strange thing, even without a wifi connection on the phones, only 3g, Its still working. This is something I don't want security wise. Does this mean everybody can control my amp?
Do you use right input in it?
Yes I choose the spotify input channel on my Yamaha

Port 4070 is open, devices do talk to each other because the Yamaha app on both Ios and Android are working, even is dlna playback from all my devices.
It came to my attention that also airplay isn't showing the device
Seems the same problem, I'm using an UBEE router, saw some other people having issues with this combination and airplay.
I guess when airplay works, spotify connect also works (not sure)
Still no solution found for it, some say turn off the firewall (done) others turn multicast on (done), I can't set the Ubee in bridging mode, another modem isn't an option.

A bizarre solution but glad you got it working. Only folk on your wifi network or with your login details (over 3g/4g) can connect to your amp.
