android app no option to create new playlist when trying to add to a folder

android app no option to create new playlist when trying to add to a folder

If I find an album I want to listen to later I always used to click on add to playlist, navigate to a folder and press new playlist. Now when I click on add playlist I initially have the option for new playlist, but when I go into any folder it disappears?

Yes, recently this option disappeared. Hope they fix the issue fast.

Hey folks,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, @ihateusernames, @ajiyooden, we'd like to continue investigating this behavior. Would you mind sending us the make/model and OS of the affected devices along with the exact Spotify version you're running there?

Keep us in the loop!

It used to be the case that when creating a playlist via the "Add to playlist" button, the "New playlist" button would always be visible as you navigate through your playlist folders, allowing you to create a playlist wherever you want. Some recent update has changed this, and now the button is only visible at the root level of your collection. As soon as you enter a folder, it vanishes. If you go back up, it comes back. What this means is that the only way to file a playlist correctly is to switch to desktop after making it and move it manually. It's really, really inconvenient.

I don't know whether this is a bug, or you're deliberately trying to discourage your users from using playlist folders (presumably like how you removed the ability to play a playlist folder from the Android app, and have never put it back despite countless paying users asking you to), but please fix this degradation of usability.

Hey there folks,

Thank you for your patience. This issue should already have been addressed in the latest version of the app. Please update it if you haven't already and if the issue persists, please let us know.
