app crashes on tablet

Solved!

app crashes on tablet

installed spotify on tablet, but crashes very often. It crashes when app go background (when open another app, or inactive screen, or when the screen is blocked). I noticed that when the screen is blocked, the widget go crazy and start to sparkle, as it doesnt fix in the screen. Also, the the widget that appear in the taskbar open and close randomly. i made a clean reinstallaton, format my tablet, installed several older versions and the problem still messing things up. I have a premium account and used the app in all my other devices, I can send you any information to helpme solving my problem.

thank you.

Not sure there's a 'more stable' app version to try I'm afraid. do you have anything else installed to control music, headphones or show widgets? they could be creating conflicts.

I also wonder if the power settings on the tablet might be causing something. If you look in Battery or Power on the android settings is there a power saver mode enabled?

Also check in WiFi Advanced settings and try forcing maximum WiFi and making sure it's not set to disable on screen off.

 Thanks for answering:

Already made what appears in there after making this questions.

About your questions:

โ€‹- โ€‹I'm using a tablet with Android 4.2.2.

โ€‹- Running app version 1.8.0.993โ€‹

โ€‹- โ€‹The issue happens only in my tablet.

โ€‹- โ€‹It only have wi-fi connection.

โ€‹- โ€‹I'veโ€‹ hadโ€‹ this issue since I installed the app, December, 19th.

โ€‹- โ€‹Thโ€‹e โ€‹issue is that the app stop doing playback, and the boโ€‹x at taskbar dissapears once I open another app or

โ€‹app โ€‹goes background mode. Even if I keepโ€‹ the app opened and active, after a few minutes, stop playback. Then, the app just close, and few minutes later, the box on taskbar appears again as if I pause the streaming. The widget in the blocked screen start sparkling everytime the screen is blocked.

 - โ€‹The issue happens since I installed the app. Made a clean reinstalation with the steps that appears in the comunity forum, but stills happening. Tried clean installing older apks, but problemas continue. Also tried formatting my tablet, but problem continues. Disabled an uninstalled clean apps (clean master).

โ€‹Screen shots just look like the app works fine. But this issue really makes me crazy, becauase is the only device that cannot let me use my premium account.

I can do another format in my tablet, or whatever you tell me to do (even another clean reinstalation). no problem, want to get this app working!!

Thank you very much for your help!!โ€‹

Do you have any apps such as task managers? Battery managers or cache cleaners installed?

Sounds like something is killing the process or throttling it once the app is set to the background. These kinds of apps are the usual suspects for things like this

Disabled an uninstalled clean apps (clean master). installed app after formatting tablet and still with the issue.

What tablet do you have? Are you rooted at all?

Are you sure there's nothing else running that could be closing the process?

The tablet is Gear 7003. Is not rooted at all.

Just checked de development options, doesnt seem to have any issue. It has an option to limit background apps, the default option is "standard limit", and have other option like "no background. Tried to open the app with and without checking this option, and disabling development options, and the app continues with the problem. No other apps control background apps, just had cleanmaster but already uninstalled to know if was a problem with that

Can you help me making a complete and full clean reinstall? It helps if I format the tablet again and reinstall the app? Is there any older apk that si probed to be stable in my android version? is there any other options in settings that can close background apps?

thanks for your help again!

Disabled th App Music FX that was controlling equalizers, but when open spotify and start playback, system crashes (and crasher really, really bad, it sounded like an alien or something) and need to reboot.

Checked WI-FI configuration to function all of his capacity, as you told me. Enable the Music FX and the app functioned normally like 2 miinutes. When stops, quickly press the unlock button and the widget of spotify that appears when the screen is blocked just switched quickly from left to rifgh and from right to left.

Again, disabled suspension (it was enabled a minute to suspend) or lock screen, and start playback normally! Used the app for 2 entire song and didnt restart! I'm now listening without the annoying restart.

So, I decided to put back screen lock and suspension of the secreen (15 second of inactivity). And the app worked! Then putted again in 5 minutes, and just worked fine. Also activate minimzation of use of WI-FI. At the end of this post, was like 15 minutes of playback

The widget in locked screen start jumping from right to left, but thats not a problem for me. Maybe should be a problem for other users. If theres any problem I'll write again.

I really apreciate your help, Daniel. Really helpful! And sorry if my english have some errors, becuse it's a foreign language to me. If i can help you with anything, I'll be glad to do it!

Just enable minimization of the usage and just restarted. Disbled it and worked fine. Surely that was the problem. If you can improve that in next version it will be awesome, because helps saving battery.

Thank you very much ๐Ÿ™‚
