I'm listening to Spotify via my desktop PC. Spotify on my phone tells me every few minutes that I'm still connected to my desktop PC. I know I am. That's what I want
Can I disable this notification?
Hi @ShannonNutt,
Thanks for reaching out on the Community!
Currently there's no option to disable these notifications. However, it's possible that the notifications becomes less frequent if you close the Spotify app on your phone while your listening on the computer. If you like, feel free to leave your vote on this idea about turning off Connect, which is the feature related to these notifications.
We hope this clear things up!
This solution doesn't work, because the whole point of using Spotify Connect is to enable your phone to control playback on other devices. If the Spotify app is closed, how can we play, pause, skip tracks, etc. from our phones?
Closing the app is not a solution, I still want to be able to change the songs from my phone, but I don't need to get the notification that I'm playing music on a different device every few minutes...
Spotify is not new to being an app. There is no excuse for notifications not to be fully customizable other than Spotify being too lazy to implement it. Likely, marketing doesn't want people to be able to disable ads, which is irrelevant to the people already paying you money for the service. So catch up to reality or start losing people to the dozens of other services with the exact same features.
This is absolutely terrible, of course i still want to use the app while my headphones are connected to my computer. Why on earth would they set the notification to reappear constantly, with no way to turn it off? It's like punishment for using a feature Spotify released
I like spotify connect but I really dislike being notified every 2 minutes that I am listening on another device 2ft away from me. I know I am. I can hear it playing. Please stop or allow us to ignore this notification!
I managed to turn it off today, I think. Held down on the notification then hit the settings icon that came up and I was able to disable "Spotify connect". This was in the android notification settings, never tried within the app itself.
This needs to stop. It's so annoying, and what you are proposing is not a solution.
I am going to go and submit a support ticket every month this is not fixed. I suggest you do the same. I am a paying user. I want to use the feature without these interruptions
Useless. Android let's me disable any notification I want. Just tell me which one it is. This is the most annoying notification. The whole POINT of premium is to have the app active on multiple devices, why would I close it on my phone when you can just make the thing work?
