why does selecting spotify's settings restart my phone?

why does selecting spotify's settings restart my phone?

every time i try to change settings within spotify, i go touch the button to access settings, then my phone flashes a blue stripe on the bottom of the screen and my phone turns off and restarts. i realise that my storage is basically full but playing songs doesn't do anything to my phone. i think it's really weird. please help, i gotta access my settings 😔

my phone is a samsung galaxy a11 if that helps

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

 

That is indeed odd. In this case, since you mentioned your storage is almost full, we'd suggest you manage the space available on your device to have some memory available at all times. Keep in mind that a full storage can lead to lagging, slowdowns, and even crashes on your phone.

 

On another note, we'd suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app on the affected device. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the stored cache is not leading to the phone restarting. You can follow the steps in this article to do it.

 

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The make/model and OS of the affected. 
  • The Spotify version you're running there.
