Album searches by year ("year:1978" for example) used to return hundreds of pages of results ordered by popularity, it was by far the best feature of Spotify in my opinion, now those same searches yield a miserable 50 albums in a completely random order, in other words: useless. Please fix this.
The advanced search tags like year: and genre: are now automatically removed from the query. Even if you type cowsays:boo, cowsays: is removed, and it only searches for boo.
I run ListenByLabel (https://lbl.fm) so I am quite well versed in record label search and have been for the last 10+ years. I am deeply thankful and appreciative for Spotify having this feature.
As of the new year, the label searches have become a lot less accurate. For example, when you search for the label "Aus Music", you now get back results from Universal Music Australia. Even though the word "Aus" is not in the name, it is matching the partial string.
Another example, if you search the label "Friends of Friends", you now get back results from "Circle of Friends" If you search for the label "Planet Mu", you now get results from Planet Ibiza Music. You get the idea...
Before January, I was getting back accurate results. But now due to the partial string matching, the results are a lot less reliable.
Spotify team, can you please fix this? Thanks!
The problem from my last comment is fixed with an Android app update.
Hey folks,
The team has looked into the issue and confirmed that the advanced search feature is being deprecated.
We appreciate your feedback and we're here if there's anything else.
Take care,
Of course it is. Why let users search for what they’re looking for after all. This is so disappointing.
Thats great, you should seriously consider deprecating the whole thing, the whole search tool, since the users are clearly not advanced enough to handle it. Thanks a lot.
It's not a solution, so it makes no sense to accept it as one. It's an insult and a f**k you to users.
Advanced search has been officially deprecated. Let's bring it back! It worked once, let's do it again. Vote here:

Today I was searching for the song Grandmom Forgot to Brine the Bird by The Alton Brown Trio. This song is indeed on Spotify, but you wouldn't know that if you were searching for it. I only found it after searching on Google.
I searched like this: The Alton Brown Trio AND Grandmom
When I went to the songs tab, there were no songs by this name to be found even though it probably should have been the first result. I tried with other key terms in the song name and it still didn't find it. I've had this issue a lot lately, and figured I'd open a ticket.
I attached pictures of the search results and the proof that the song is on spotify.
