My Question or Issue
Hey, recently, after the 16.4 update (16.4.1 as well now) there's an issue with my cover images of the daily mixes.
All of them show up as a grey square with a musical note (no cover image as previously).
This makes it unpleasant and difficult to engage the proper Daily Mix from both the Spotify widget, as well as the App itself (as you can no longer see what the theme/one of the artists in the playlist are).
I tried clearing my Spotify cache from both the App itself and from my iPhone, restarting my iPhone, deleting the app and reinstalling completely, and also signing out and then in again, all of these actions did not resolve the issue.
I have a stable internet connection, and both on my WiFi network (at home/office) and on my data roaming, I experience this issue (despite not having any other network related issues).
Any advice on the matter or as to why this is happening and how to resolve it?
Thank you!
Hey @alex281197,
Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.
We appreciate you sending us all the steps that you've already tried to solve this.
We'd like to know if the issue persists with a different account. If a family member has a Spotify account, would you please ask them to log in on your device to test if they'll be able to see the covers of Daily Mix playlists?
In case they're also unable to see them, could you let us know your phone's Spotify version and, if possible, if you experience this on other mobile devices?
Let us know how it goes. We'll be on the lookout for your reply 🙂
Hey! Thanks for the reply 🙂
The issue persists on a different account as well - My partner's account. We both have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and running version 8.8.24 (latest).
We have a Spotify Duo Account so I invited his individual account to the plan almost 2 years ago or so.
I tried as instructed by you to login into my account on his phone, same issue persists for me.
He logged with his account on my device - same issue, note that both of our accounts are personal and individual and only related via the Spotify Duo Plan, but the Daily Mixes are completely separate for us both and of course personalized for each to his own account.
On our MacBooks, we have absolutely no such issue, both Macs are the same as well (M1 16" Pro) and each account has the cover images up and running just fine.
Any idea what this could be and how to fix it?
Thank you!
Hi there @alex281197,
Thanks for the post.
We'll report this to the right folks at Spotify, as this might be an issue related to the latest release of the app.
Can you please let us know what app version you're running.
Cheers.
Hey - I'm using version 8.8.24, thanks!
Hey @alex281197,
Thanks for getting back to us with this info.
We've forwarded it to the relevant team here at Spotify, however, we can't confirm when it will be addressed. In the meantime, please make sure to keep your app up-to-date.
Let us know if there's anything else.
Hey, the issue was unfortunately not resolved after the recent updates (two versions were released already) still, just wanted to share the insight currently. Thank you!
Hey everyone, I discovered the issue is solely happening when my app is in my default language (like it has always been - in Hebrew) - Once I changed it to English to test it out, all of the images came back. I thought it's a one time bug so I converted the language back, and again the images went missing. Could you please push the developers to fix this issue with the Hebrew App version specifically? Super frustrating and annoying, I'm using Spotify for almost 5 years or so and have always used it in my language, bizarre to have this bug now all of a sudden.
Currently as a 'temp' solution for anyone out there - You can change your phone's language to a different one or the specific Spotify's App language.
Thanks!
