My Question or Issue
As stated in the title, I would like to report explicit album covers. I was able to find the report feature for Artist specific content, but not album content. Songs are marked as explicit when they contain explicit content, and can be disabled from listening when filtering out explicit content. Meanwhile, album covers are not marked as explicit when they contain pornographic material, and are not censored when the explicit content filter is on.
As the Spotify for Artists Terms and Conditions (https://www.spotify.com/us/legal/spotify-for-artists-terms-and-conditions/) states:
Don't engage in any activity, post any User Content, or register and/or use a username,which is or includes material that:
10.13 is offensive, abusive, defamatory, pornographic, threatening, harassing, obscene, or advocates or incites violence;
The fact that pornographic album covers are even permitted to exist on this application is a violation of your own rules, ergo there should be some means of reporting them.
Hey there @shinobisensei,
Thanks for bringing this up in the community.
The way the Explicit filter works currently is that it hides (makes unplayable) song marked as containing explicit texts.
We'd recommend you report this directly to the content team, who'll have a look at what can be done. Follow the guide in this support Article. Reports against offensive and possibly infringing content are taken very seriously by the team.
Hope this helps 🙂
Hey there @shinobisensei,
Thanks for the reply.
You can report if under one of those categories. There is no report form specifically for albums, as this falls under Artists.
Let us know if you have more questions.
It's pretty wild that you have graphic album covers like these on Spotify with no way of reporting them.
This is a guy who shot his brains out with a shotgun, do you think it's a good idea to show such graphic images of his body to your users? Please let us report album covers.
I disagree with your desire to censor art of any kind.
So you agree with shinobisensei that there is no way to filter explicit album images. I tried removing a suggested album with a nude artist on the cover, but Spotify says there are playlist images for the URL. Yes, it is the correct URL.
