Local Files Just not Syncing

My Question or Issue

So, I've read so many posts about local files not syncing. I have uploaded one mp3 file to my desktop version of spotify, turned on local files on both my desktop version of spotify and my iOS mobile app, and followed every step that other forums have said, including ensuring both devices are on the same wifi, ensuring I have enough space on both devices, ensuring I haven't uploaded more than the allotted number of files (I'm only trying to upload one), redownloading the entire playlist that has the local song on both devices, reinstalled spotify on both devices, and moving where the file is located on my computer and changing the source for local files to that folder. I have also ensured that both versions of spotify are up to date, as well as my operating system on my iPhone.

Regardless of what I do, the song will play on my desktop version of spotify, but will not play on the mobile version nor the web browser version. I've even connected my computer to my mobile hotspot on my phone in hopes that would fix it. At this point I am desperate, as this is a remix of a song that I have adored going on 6 years, and I just want to be able to listen to it without having to move over to youtube in the middle of my drives!

Have you tried having the local files directly on your phone?

P.S. There is no such option for the Web Player.

Yes, the local file is on both my phone and my laptop. It won’t sync through either! I also assumed that it isnt a feature on the web browser, I just wanted to make sure to include that I have tried everything else.

Hey @ambacon,

Thanks for your reply. 

We recommend that you play your local file on your computer (while having the app open in your mobile device) and use the function "Connect" in order to select your phone. The song (local file) should start playing on your iPhone and should get synchronized. 

Let us know if this does the trick.
