Posting a song twice (ex. a single and then also on the album)

Hello,

I noticed that some artists post a single for a song and then also include that same song on their album. I was wondering if all the streams from the single transfer to the album connected (both are the exact same songs). Most artists who do this do not have the same song title trending two times on their page under "Popular"  so I'm assuming there's a streaming transfer.

Hey @annahardie, welcome to the community, and thanks for your post! I had to do a little digging on this one, but you're exactly right about how this works. As long as the single and album version of the track are exactly the same, the streams of both should count towards the total plays that you'd see on the artist's page.
