Hey there @SinonKryze,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.

This is a bit odd, but here is what you should try:

  • When an ad comes up, don't close the ad or minimize the app on your phone and let the ad play out till the end. In case this doesn't work and the app still freezes:
  • Do a clean reinstall of the app, following this Guide.
  • Make sure that Battery optimization is not enabled for Spotify from the system app settings, as well as that the app is granted all permissions. These settings could be hindering the performance of the app.

Let us know how you get on with this.

After doing what you have said the after the ad came up and I let it played. After it played it froze. Thus I did what you said on how to Uninstaller the app properly and making sure the Battery optimization not enabled. And lastly I only allowed permission for storage. At the end of the app worked properly and after testing it when an ad played, the music continued. Thanks for the reply and solutions you said.

Unfortunately after a day I have done what you said. The Spotify app still freezes after an ad and sometimes randomly.

Hi @SinonKryze,

Thanks for the post.

Sorry to hear that this is still happening.

Something else you can try is this:

  1. Uninstall the Spotify app
  2. Remove your SD card from your phone
  3. Install the app back, but don't reinsert the SD card

Try using your phone like this for a couple of days and see if the app works as expected. If it does, there might be an issue with your SD card and would be best to get a new one or try formatting the old one.

If that still doesn't work and the app keeps freezing, I'd recommend heading over to this Ongoing Issue. We've received reports about the app hanging and crashing on Android devices recently. The right folks are working on a fix, and it will be announced in the linked page.

Keep us posted on how you get on.

Unfortunately, the problem is still there and the latest suggestion you said did not work.

Spotify used through a Roku on my TV will stop after certain ads.

Ideas?

So basically when i get ads they all play and continue onto my music, but whenever i get the Studio 6 ad, my spotify wont let me play anything else and if i press resume on the ad it will go back a few seconds, play out with no audio, and continue to be stuck.
