My Question or Issue
After an ad showing the music will not play and I need to restart to phone or the app
Hey there @SinonKryze,
Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.
This is a bit odd, but here is what you should try:
Let us know how you get on with this.
After doing what you have said the after the ad came up and I let it played. After it played it froze. Thus I did what you said on how to Uninstaller the app properly and making sure the Battery optimization not enabled. And lastly I only allowed permission for storage. At the end of the app worked properly and after testing it when an ad played, the music continued. Thanks for the reply and solutions you said.
Unfortunately after a day I have done what you said. The Spotify app still freezes after an ad and sometimes randomly.
Hi @SinonKryze,
Thanks for the post.
Sorry to hear that this is still happening.
Something else you can try is this:
Try using your phone like this for a couple of days and see if the app works as expected. If it does, there might be an issue with your SD card and would be best to get a new one or try formatting the old one.
If that still doesn't work and the app keeps freezing, I'd recommend heading over to this Ongoing Issue. We've received reports about the app hanging and crashing on Android devices recently. The right folks are working on a fix, and it will be announced in the linked page.
Keep us posted on how you get on.
Unfortunately, the problem is still there and the latest suggestion you said did not work.
Hey @SinonKryze,
Thanks for the reply.
In such case we advise you to have a look at this ongoing issue thread, as @Alex mentioned, where users have reported similar experiences.
Our tech team is currently investigating the reasons for this behavior and we'll be posting the developments on the matter in the linked thread.
Hope this helps,
Cheers!
Spotify used through a Roku on my TV will stop after certain ads.
