Unable to play BBC Podcasts in Tesla/Spotify app

My Question or Issue

I can only access BBC podcasts ( Chequered Flag / Tech life) through Spotify in my Tesla because there is no Sounds app. However when I go to play an episode the BBC episodes are listed but greyed out and cannot be streamed ( unlike other podcasts or when I use Spotify/ Sounds in my phone ).
Popular consensus is this may be because Tesla use a sim purchased in the Netherlands to supply the data plan.
I also understand the BBC has country limits.
But this is UK content trying to be played in UK so can’t see how either apply.

Also same issue applies when car is connected to Wifi

The IP in the tesla is based in the Netherlands so Spotify thinks that is where you are so restricts content. You may notice the same happens on netflix programs which are available at home are not available in the car and visa versa

Same problem.  So come on Spotify, how do you fix this?

I am not sure its a IP location issue, if you open up the tesla browser and type in "ip address location" mine is showing a IPv4 UK address, the ISP is in the NL, the duch provider started moving UK based teslas over to UK IP ranges a while ago. I can also prove this by opening up the browser and playing iplayer without issue.

I have the same issue though I can not play any bbc podcasts through the spotify tesla app, I also see different content. Example if I follow the BBC Friday Night Comedy on the spotify app on my iphone it then appears under podcasts in the spotify tesla app, but will not play. However if I do a new search for BBC Friday Night Comedy in the spotify tesla app it wont even find it .... very strange. It will find it via tunein, but I want to use spotify as they is where all my content is.

@spotify whats the issue here, the bbc? tesla? or the tesla spotify app?

I contacted tesla and they have come back and said its a known issue, but there is no eta for a fix !!! a guess the more people that register the same issue the more pressure they will have to fix it

From an investigation with Tesla, this is not the only problem. UK cars initially have a Dutch IP address, but this changes to a UK IP address after a few months (not sure why it takes this long). Even after this, however, some BBC podcasts are not available, and others play international versions (starting with a message about being supported by advertising). According to Tesla this is because the version of Spotify they use on their cars will only play podcasts that are stored on Spotify's servers.

I have the same problem except I am in Australia. However, I don’t believe this is the issue since I can play the podcasts in the Spotify app on iPhone/iPad. Only Spotify Connect and Tesla will not play the episodes. My Sonos App does not show ANY podcasts at all. Spotify on the Tesla shows and plays all podcasts except for the BBC chequered Flag podcast.

Same problem. UK. 

However I seem perfectly able to access the podcasts via Spotify in the car's web browser. So it's good to have a workaround, but that doesn't explain why it's not working in the app.
