Viewing Extra Content in Audio Books

Viewing Extra Content in Audio Books

I have a Premium Plan and enjoy listening to Audio Books on my device on my Iphone. I'm wanting to download and print some of the "Extra Content" that often comes with the audio books. The current book I'm listening to has a valuable 10+ page .PDF that I want to have access to --- to print, etc. How do I gain access to this so that I can save, print, etc. Currently, there are no options except for viewing it.

Hi there @dbrennski,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

In general, some authors may provide access to bonus content in the Extras option under the audiobook's description on the mobile app, so try checking there, if you haven't already. In any case, could you share the audiobook you're referring to so we can take a closer look at this?

Cheers 🤘

Yes, you can find the extra content under the audiobooks description on the Mobile app, yet it's not available on the desktop version, which means there is no workaround in order to print the extra content. You also can't save the extra content to the files section of your phone.

I was just going to ask this question:  I can access the Extra content on my iPad Pro app, my iPhone app but Not on my MacOS app.    There is NO option to print available on ANY of the books that include extra content on the iPhone or iPad apps.   It also does not allow you to go directly to a certain chapter or page of the .pdf.    The ONLY option is just view, scroll and screenshot.   Some of these extras have worksheet pages and it would be really great to be able to print these from the app because I HAVE listened to the book(s) (at least once) and would like to printout the worksheets for use.    How many links to the books on Spotify app would tech support like me to send them?   I can easily send you 6-7 books showing this right now.

Hey @d6s7icnx2jsfaivq7cnt@amatlock & @PippaMay42,

Thanks for posting in the thread! Apologies for the delayed response here 🙂

In case anyone still needs an assist here, you can check out this support article. It should be of help!
As highlighted in the 'Audiobooks with extra material' section, you should get an email whenever you make a purchase of an audiobook of this category. There should be a download link for the extra materials inside, but, if this is not the case, feel free to reach out to our support folks via this link; they'd be happy to lend a hand!

Cheers! Hope this helps 🙌🏼

I don't understand why is not available on the desktop version. Licensing should be the same since with our subscription we are paying for the content.  On the mobile version it makes the content useless.

This does not help. The people here are talking about audiobooks included in the memberships of Premium subscribers, NOT audiobooks purchased outside of that subscription with Spotify. For some books, the accompanying pdfs are fundamental to listening to the book, and having the pdf only available to scroll through on a phone screen rather than a computer screen, a downloaded and printed document, or something larger than a few inches is nonsensical. Many of these pdfs are "workbook" style - meaning they have charts and fill-in-the-blanks. This type of answer of "you should get an email whenever you make a purchase of an audiobook" seems deliberately obtuse. Spotify moderators should know how the interface and membership perks operate.

THe **bleep**ery continues, I'm online to the "support advisors" who begin to understand the issue after repeatedly asking
Q> Is it included content or paid content  A. Yes, its both
Q. What are the titles. A. I give them a paid title and an included in premium title
The advisor times out and a new advisor comes online and assures me that they will help.

Then that advisor drops out and i waste another hour of my life

Aaaaand now, two hours later... In response to my question, "How do i print the extra content that I have paid for?"

the answer is "you can't"

THANK YOU for confirming this, as the moderators of this board won't bother to.

I'm listening to an audiobook now, and the author gives carte blanche permission to use the accompanying pdf to "print, use, share and distribute." Yet Spotify makes the intent of the author irrelevant by not allowing members to print - or even view on a workable screen size - the pdfs accompanying books that are "included in Premium" membership.

I am glad I am not the only one frustrated by this. Spotify blatantly advertises "free downloadable PDF" but then doesn't allow it and can only find it on the mobile app. I can find MANY audiobooks that say this on Spotify which is false advertising and misleading to the consumer. I'm a premium member and it still doesn't matter. Spotify, please fix this issue or stop falsely advertising!

So really the answer is that the audiobook section of this app/website is subpar to others and if anyone wants to actually access the extra content, they should use a different audio book app.
