My Question or Issue

Hi! I've been avoiding updating the desktop app because I already severely dislike the new UI on mobile, and hated how the desktop app looked when I visited friends. now, after a few years of holding out, spotify automatically updated the app, new UI included, and surprise surprise, I hate it.

I tried downloading the 15/12/2020 update but that just made me unable to log in despite having a premium account (got error code access:22). Is there a way to revert back to the old UI or am I just stuck with user-unfriendly UI that is making my autism go haywire? I miss the easily accessible playlists, or having friends activity in a toggleable sidebar that doesnt disappear whenever I click on a song 😞

Thanks in advance!

Hey, @uhrexplicit

Unfortunately, there is no way to revert the update or to have the old UI back, because it's not supported by Spotify anymore. The new Spotify app is constantly changing to improve the user experience bringing new features and shaping the current ones. You can find more information about updates here:

Hi, thanks for your quick reply! I get that spotify wants to improve the experience, sadly it's far from an improvement and I really wish I could opt out of testing, hahah. It's a common topic of discussion with my friends that the constant changes to the app are more annoying than refreshing. Guess I'll be looking for a different streaming service soon hahah 🙂

Thanks anyway,

Rex
