My Question or Issue
I'm trying to make a fresh installation of Spotify in a new laptop. No problem login in on the browser —Safari 17.2.1— when the app sends me there for the login —Screenshoot #2—, but when the browser prompts me to return to the app, I get the error in Screenshot #1 and reverts me to Screenshot #2.
I've already followed the suggestions in other threads: reset the email login password, reset the Hide My ID email password, reinstalling, etc. None of it worked. Also my firewall has been off the whole time.
No issues with the login in my iPhone and other computers.
Any suggestions?

To start, we recommend logging out from your account everywhere from the Overview Page here. Afterwards, you can give the app a clean reinstall once again and then try using a different browser to see if the login issue persists there as well.

Just setting a different default browser —DuckDuckGo— and having the Spotify app to redirect me there for login did the trick. I’m back in; no need for a reinstall or login out from other sessions 🙂
I had the same problem. As mentioned below, a good start would be trying to change default web browser as it did the trick for me too. I changed default browser from Safari to Chrome and tried the Mac app again and it worked!
What I did that helped is :
In the app for MAC, in the menus i clicked "Help" and then "Reset app data and restart". After doing that login worked !!

My Question or Issue
Ive been trying for the longest while to log into my Spotify desktop app version. I opened the app recently, and the log-in screen is new and what I'm not used to.
It has "Sign in" and "Log-in" button that lead to the website confirming my account, instead of what you would usually see on both the desktop and mobile log-in screen. When I press okay, it sends me back to the app, still nothing changed and it brought me back to the aforementioned "sign in" and "log-in" screen although it says that the authentication was complete. 😢
I tried deleting caches, re-installing the app, and restarting my device twice. Im not sure which has an issue, my laptop or the application. However, I tried logging in on the Web-player and it worked just fine but I would really like to be using the app version instead.
I've tried all above (change web default, reset...), still not working. After going back from the login web, My app just stays at the login view with no error. Please help!

Would you mind trying the suggestion @jonny808 posted previously in this thread?
If the issue persists, could you ask a friend or a relative to try to log in to their account on your affected devices to see if they can replicate this behavior?
On another note, would you mind checking if the same happens on a different browser? It's also worth trying to clear your browser's cache and restart it to see if that works.
Lastly, sending us the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your devices would come in handy.
We'll be on the lookout for your replies.
Same here; tested with my M1 Pro 2021 os 14.7.1 with Chrome, Safari and Edge.
Hi @Eni! I tried another browser for the log-in, google chrome, and it worked just fine. All that back and forth with restarting and clearing caches are no more and im back in now! Thank you so much for your help 😊👍🏼
