Chromecast available from phone but not iMac

I have 4 devices that can play Spotify: PS4, Chromecast, Pixel 2 & iMac.

If I open spotify on my Pixel 2 I can select the other devices, assuming they are on.

If however I open spotify on my iMac, the chromecast doesnt appear in the device list. I have to then go to my Pixel 2 and open the app so I can select the chromecast. One I have done this the chromecast appears on my iMac...until next time when I have to do it again. Is there a reason the Chromecast doesnt appear as a device on my iMac - can I refresh the devices somehow?

We'd recommend reinstalling the app on your Mac. You can do it by following the steps at https://support.spotify.com/article/reinstallation-of-spotify/.

I use iphone cast with Chromecast and sync with account on Macbook.

Will be ok!
