Disliked artists appearing in playlists on Desktop app

Solved!

Disliked artists appearing in playlists on Desktop app

Using Mac (M1) Desktop app on a premium account in the UK and finding that artists I have successfully disliked/removed on iOS and are not showing up on mobile app are appearing/included and playing in desktop app when playing same playlist.

Was confused when I moved across to play on mac from iphone only to have song play from an artist I had previously removed and was not in playlist on phone suddenly start playing. When I then compared playlist (Spotify playlist) between devices several songs that are not in iphone version due to me logging my preferences show up throughout the playlist on the Mac. Then checked several other playlists and same thing. Appears that the profile is not correctly synching across the devices using the account. It is a family plan and checked other members of the family and same thing.

Mac version

1.1.58.820.g2ae50076-a

Also checked W10 desktop app and found same issue. May be also to due to the fact you can only dislike artists on mobile app??

Yes I can see the song after clicking on Hide this song in the playlist but on mobile after clicking on the artist page and selecting Don't play this artist I dont see any of their songs in the playlists on mobile only.

Since my last message something appears to have resolved as now when I click on the specific song- wont play with the blue message that it can play and songs are skipped on any device even if visible/listed in the playlist on the desktop app.

Hey @aeggerton,

Thanks for getting in touch with us 🙂

It's a good idea to give these steps a go and run a clean reinstall. Sometimes the cache can lead to different issues.

We'd suggest you also try with another network to see if anything changes.

Just to double check- do you dislike different songs in a specific playlist or block artists?

No change I am afraid. Did a clean install on both Windows 10 app and Mac app and both have same issue. Also checked web based player and same thing. Songs from disliked artists showing up in playlists but correctly not shown in same playlist on mobile app. As I can only dislike artists on mobile app?, assume there is a problem with my profile not correctly synching back to web and desktop app?.
