Liked Songs Still Being Re-added

Liked Songs Still Being Re-added

Hello,

I'm now using Spotify for macOS 1.2.11.916.geb595a67 and when dragging a song over the left playlist column that's highlighted green and accidentally dropping it before I get to a playlist, Spotify still re-adds it to my Liked Songs, even though the song was already liked, and then changes its Date Added to today’s date. It just did this again. Please, put a dialog box so it's not re-added or something to stop this. It messes us sorting users' Liked Songs by Date Added now. Thanks!

All my liked songs have all reset. For instance:
"Photosynthesis" by saba was my first liked song and it was liked 3 years ago somewhere in December of 2020

"Remember that time" by Michael Jackson was liked by me no more then 2 months ago but they both say "Liked 1 hour ago".  If it was just the date then I wouldn't have a problem but where my problem starts is the fact because liked songs appear by the time they were added and now songs that I liked 1-2 years ago are above songs I recently liked which makes my listening experience so TRASH. I hear songs I was listening to during a dark point of my life next to the most up beat hiphop stuff.  I don't really mind losing the dates but the order is the most annoying part. I have a playlist which has all my songs in order. Is there anyway to undo this or transfer the order of my playlist to my liked songs?

Also I know why the dates disappeared. The reason was partially my fault but I extremely **bleep** off that spotify didn't think of a way to prevent this. The reason this happened was because I was trying to copy all my liked songs into a playlist by shift clicking all of them and did it successfully but I tried to do it again into another playlist but my finger slipped and copied it into my liked songs. Instead of asking "Are you sure" or just ignoring them because they were ALL DOUBLES, SPOTIFY DECIDED THEY WERE ALL NEW ENTRIES. And now years of my listening history is down the drain. Surely there is a way to rewind my account to yesterday right? How does spotify deal with hackers deleting all songs and stuff like that? Surely they don't just let people lose years of listening because they couldn't be bothered to implement a saving system?

None of those songs were liked on the same day

Hi there @aarlihn,

Thanks for letting us know about this. We've forwarded all the info to the relevant team and this is being looked into.

Thanks for helping us improve Spotify!

My Question or Issue

Hey y'all, had an issue today where I was trying to add all my liked songs to a playlist to rearrange some stuff. When I had selected all the songs in my "liked songs" I dragged them over to the new playlist but accidently placed them back into my "liked songs". This rearranged all my songs to appear to have been added "moments ago" rather than being shown oldest (back in 2014) to newest song added. I contacted support and they said that they couldn't revert the previous order they were in. Has anyone been able to get it reverted? If I requested my data would there be something in there that would let me/show the previous order? Thanks!

Hi,

It's still happening, and just happened again to me right now. All I'm asking for is a dialog box to come up when already saved songs are accidentally dropped over "Liked Songs" or dropped when the large green rectangle shows, so that the user can then select "Don't Add" like you let us do for songs already in playlists. Please add this. Date Added metadata is important for some users like me who sort their songs by Date Added often, and so when this disorganization of our music library happens, it affects how we search for and play the music we're looking for. Please fix this. Again, it's just a warning dialog box for Liked Songs like you already have for playlists. Please, Spotify.

Hey there folks,

Thanks for posting in this thread!

We appreciate the feedback on this and the right folks are aware of this behavior. What we can suggest is that you submit this as an idea. This way, other user can vote for it and show their for support it as well.

Should anything else appear, we're just a post away.

i recently added a playlist to my liked songs, but instead of just adding new songs, it moved all the songs from the playlist that were already in my liked songs to the top. this is very annoying cause I just wanted to add the new songs, is there any way to fix this and/or undo adding the playlist at all?
